Have you ever wondered who lived in your house? How to trace your family in the Eatons?

The Project Area

The project area includes the old village areas of Eaton Socon and Eaton Ford, and the smaller hamlets of Cross Hall Ford, Cross Hall, Maltmans Gardens and Little End. Most of this area is now in Cambridgeshire. The project also includes The Crown Public House, Dirt House on the A1 and Sharpes Barn that are part of the old hamlets but now seem isolated from the immediate Eatons area.

Special Buildings in the Area

The Eatons area was for centuries very self sufficient and the project area is rich in special buildings to study:

The Project

Using censuses, electoral registers, house deeds and other documents we have over 2000 families placed in houses within Eaton Socon and Eaton Ford from 1800 to the 1960s.

We can identify where they lived and where they moved. We have baptisms, marriages and burials typed and ready for research from 1800. Both the churchyard and cemetery memorials are recorded.

We have created maps at different periods to show what the Eatons were like at various times in the past 200 years.
